STAN LAUREL and OLIVER HARDY

















Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy were one of the most popular comedy duo in the USA. The duo was best known as Laurel and Hardy (The fat and the thin), the fat was the english Stan Laurel and the thin was the American Oliver Hardy.
This duo was known for his comedy films during 1920 and 1930. The first time the two worked together was in silent film comedy "The Lucky Dog" in 1921.
In May 1954, Hardy had a myocardial infarction and August 7, 1957 he died aged 65 years. Stan died to 74 years old, suffered a heart attack in Los Angeles.

CHARLES CHAPLIN



Charles Spencer Chaplin was an actor, director, comedian, writer, producer, dancer and British musician who was best known as Charles Chaplin. He was born on April 16, 1889 in Londonin the UK.
His career lasted over 75 years he was influenced by French comedian Max Linder. His princupal and most famous character was The Tramp, which in Europe was known as Charlot and Brazil was known as Vagabundo.
His father (Charles Spencer Chaplin Sr.) was a singer and actor, and his mother (Hannah Chaplin) was a singer and actress, so he learned to sing with their parents.
During 1910 to 1912, was reliza their first U.S. tour.
In 1972 he won the Oscar for Best Original Score for the film Limelight.
Charles married five times and had 11 children during these relationships.
On December 25 de1977 he died with 88 years old Corsiessur-Vevey, Switzerland, and was buried in the Communal, but on March 1, 1978 his body was stolen from the grave, only 11 weeks after the body was recovered .

CARMEN MIRANDA




Maria do Carmo da Cunha, better known as Carmen Miranda, was an actress and singer. She was born on February 9, 1909 in Marco of Canaves in Portugual and died on August 5, 1955 with 46 years in Beverly Hills, USA.
She was the second daughter of Jose Maria Pinto Cunha and Maria Emilia Miranda, and was nicknamed Carmen Miranda in Brazil.
In 1930, his success began when she recorded the march "To You Like Me" Joubert de Carvalho. In 1936, she starred in "Hello, Hello Carnival." In 1947 she married the American David Sebastian and in 1955 she became pregnant but suffered spontaneous abortion.
On August 5, 1955, she died and was buried in São João Batista, in Rio de Janeiro.

HEITOR VILLA-LOBOS



Heitor Villa-Lobos was a great Brazilian composer who was born in Rio de Janeiro on March 5, 1887 and died on November 17, 1959, with 72 years old. He composed great works in Brazil.
He was encouraged early by his mother (Monteiro Noêmia Villa-Lobos) to school because she wanted to see him and his doctor father (Raul Villa-Lobos) gave him a musical education and adapted viola before he began his musical studies.
He married Lucilia and disbanded in 1930. Soon after a cancer in 1948, he married Arminda Neves de Almeida, who was a former student.
On November 17, 1959 he died and was buried in São João Batista cemetery in Rio de Janeiro. In 1960, created the Villa-Lobos Museum in his honor.

Thanksgiving Day

HALLOWEEN



On October 31 Halloween is celebrated in Brazil, it is better known as Halloween.
Halloween is celebrated in most Anglo-Saxon countries, particularly in the U.S.
