Heitor Villa-Lobos was a great Brazilian composer who
was born in Rio de Janeiro on March 5, 1887 and died on November 17, 1959, with
72 years old. He composed great works in Brazil.
He was encouraged early by his mother (Monteiro Noêmia
Villa-Lobos) to school because she wanted to see him and his doctor father
(Raul Villa-Lobos) gave him a musical education and adapted viola before he
began his musical studies.
He married Lucilia and disbanded in 1930. Soon after a
cancer in 1948, he married Arminda Neves de Almeida, who was a former student.
On November 17, 1959 he died and was buried in São
João Batista cemetery in Rio de Janeiro. In 1960, created the Villa-Lobos
Museum in his honor.
