Maria do Carmo da Cunha, better known as Carmen
Miranda, was an actress and singer. She was born on February 9, 1909 in Marco
of Canaves in Portugual and died on August 5, 1955 with 46 years in Beverly
Hills, USA.
She was the second daughter of Jose Maria Pinto Cunha
and Maria Emilia Miranda, and was nicknamed Carmen Miranda in Brazil.
In 1930, his success began when she recorded the march
"To You Like Me" Joubert de Carvalho. In 1936, she starred in
"Hello, Hello Carnival." In 1947 she married the American David
Sebastian and in 1955 she became pregnant but suffered spontaneous abortion.
On August 5, 1955, she died and was buried in São João
Batista, in Rio de Janeiro.
